Check Out the Donnie Smith Bike Show and Swap Meet in St. Paul
It's that time of year again, it's the time when people have had a dose of some warm weather (obviously before this week) and are itching to get back out and ride all over creation with the wind in your hair (or whatever) and just enjoying nature.
ANNUAL BIKE SHOW AND SWAP MEET COMING UP AT THE END OF MARCH
The annual Donnie Smith Bike Show and Swap Meet is back, and is scheduled for next weekend, March 28th and 29th at the St Paul RiverCentre.
Over 150,000 square feet will showcase more than 100 of the best baggers, custom choppers, retro bobbers and unique cruisers in the country. This year is going to feature their traditional bike show with over 35 classes, and 20 custom bikes in the new showcase. In addition to the bike show, there will be a massive 45,000 square-foot swap meet area.
HOW DO YOU GET TICKETS AND WHAT IS THE COST PER PERSON
The tickets are on sale now. Cost is $23.15 for one ticket, usually sold in pairs for $46.30. This is for ages 13 and above. Ages 12 and under are free.
The Donnie Smith Bike Show has also been very active with charitable giving. They have donated over $900,000 to Special Olympics through the Sturgis Buffalo Chip Legends Ride.
There are so many people who will milling around over these two days - up to 15,000 people throughout the weekend. With general admission, people will be coming and going at their leisure. But it's a great time to see what you can get, build or just admire.
STUDENTS ARE ALSO COMPETING IN BUILDING CUSTOM BIKES
There is also a contest.
Students from Minnesota will compete in designing custom-built bikes using parts donated from generous suppliers. Finished bikes will be available for sale at the show with all proceeds going to each school's respective shop programs.
So it would be kind of cool to see what they come up with. As I said, a great time to admire.
