Growing up, I never spent too much time watching Chuck Norris, as it wasn't until college that I filled some of my time with my roommates watching reruns of Walker, Texas Ranger. We learned this morning that Chuck Norris has died at age 86 in Hawaii. Fans' reaction to the martial artist's death has been a mix of both humor and sorrow. Here are some of the reactions I've seen online so far.

Humor

Some people's natural reaction to death is to use humor to help them process the news, and several people on X took the humor approach.

Chuck Norris didn't die. He decided being on Earth was too easy. He's looking for a planet to bench press now.

I'll always remember Chuck Norris as the man who changed the course of dodgeball history by casting the deciding vote that allowed Average Joes to play in the championship of the Las Vegas International Dodgeball Open where they upset the heavily favored Globo Gym Purple Cobras. RIP. - Greg Price

Chuck Norris may be gone, but his legend lives on forever. We heard he once threw a grenade and killed 50 people, then it exploded.

More Serious Tributes To Chuck Norris

Others on social media took a more measured approach to the death of Chuck Norris.

Sara and I were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Chuck Norris, a great friend of Israel and a close personal friend. Chuck brought martial arts and the warmth of his character to millions around the world. May his memory be a blessing. - Benjamin Netanyahu

Prayers up for the family, friends and fans of the legendary Chuck Norris who passed away at the age of 86. Rest in Peace Walker, Texas Ranger
