Irene M. Zwick, 81, Sauk Rapids

January 30, 1934 - July 19, 2015

Memorial Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sauk Rapids for Irene M. Zwick, age 81 of Sauk Rapids, who passed away on Sunday at her home surrounded by her loving family. Rev. Paul Cloeter and Rev. Harvey Ehlers will officiate and entombment will be at Hilltop Mausoleum in Sauk Rapids. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday morning in Sauk Rapids. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids.

Irene was born on January 30, 1934 in Sauk Rapids to Carl and Lena (Athen) Lovitz. She married Donald Zwick on June 6, 1953 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sauk Rapids. Irene worked in food service as the Chief Baker for the Sauk Rapids School District for 29 years, retiring in 1999. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sauk Rapids and was active in the Hospitality Guild and Altar Guild. Irene was also a leader of the Rapids Royals 4-H Group and a member of the Sauk Rapids Homemakers Group and the Sauk Rapids American Legion Post #254 Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, fishing and spending time at the cabin and being with her family. She will be remembered as a kind, caring and strong woman. Irene was a wonderful wife, mom, grandma and great grandma.

Survivors include her husband Don; children Susan (Wayne) Kulzer, Robert “Bob” (Rose) Zwick, and Daniel “Dan” (Chris Day) Zwick all of Sauk Rapids; brothers, Raymond (Diane) Lovitz of Pequot Lakes and William “Bill” (Geraldine) Lovitz of Sauk Rapids; sisters, Elaine Dollar and Ruth Reber both of Sauk Rapids; 5 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff at CentraCare Hospice, especially Molly and Cathy for the excellent care that was given to Irene.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to CentraCare Hospice.
