UNDATED - Hot and humid weather will continue across the region through Thursday with heat indices hitting 95 to 100 degrees Thursday afternoon.

A Heat Advisory remains in effect until 9:00 p.m. this (Thursday) evening.  Afternoon highs will be in the lower to mid 90s, with heat indices of 100 to 103 degrees.

The prolonged hot and humid conditions will lead to a heightened risk of heat related stress and illness, especially for the young and elderly, and those without air conditioning.

Relief comes Thursday night in the form of a strong cold front, which will also bring a chance for strong to severe thunderstorms, mainly along and north of Interstate 94.

Isolated severe thunderstorms are possible with large hail and damaging winds Thursday night into early Friday.

Cooler and drier air arrives for the weekend.
