Elk River Man Dead After 2-Car Crash

ELK RIVER -- A man is dead after a two-car crash on Highway 10 in Elk River on Saturday afternoon.

The Sherburne County Sheriff's Office says 63-year-old Daniel Vaughn of Elk River was killed in a crash at the intersection of Highway 10 and Upland Avenue.

Police say Vaughn was traveling south on Upland Avenue when a vehicle traveling west on Highway 10 ran a red light and crashed into him.

Vaughn was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver who ran the red light was 18-year-old Steffen Salfrank of Elk River. Authorities say he was not hurt in the crash.
