Donalda “Donnie” V. (Lofgren) Smilonich passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, July 25, 2014. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Brainerd at a later date.

Donnie was born February 15, 1924 in Big Fork, MN to Alvin and Hazel (Chamberlin) Lofgren. She graduated in the class of 1941 from Pequot Lakes High School. Donnie married Buddy Smilonich on December 10, 1948. The couple made their home in Brainerd for over 60 years before moving to St. Cloud in 2007. She worked at Keith Drug before joining her husband in the family business, Bud’s Jewelry for over 30 years. Donnie was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church for over 50 years. She was faithful and loved the lord. Donnie enjoyed knitting, crocheting and oil painting. Donnie had a great sense of humor and always took care of her family first. She will be dearly missed.

Donnie is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Buddy of Sauk Rapids; grandchildren, Debbie (Dave) Henkemeyer, Greg Anderson; great grandchildren, Abby Splittstoesser, Noelle Henkemeyer, Elise Henkemeyer, Ellie Henkemeyer, Hannah Henkemeyer, Stephanie Anderson, Kayla Anderson; great-great granddaughter, Charlotte Splittstoesser. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Earl Lofgren, Sherman Lofgren, Virgil Arden; daughter and son-in-law, Elene and John Anderson; grandson, Terry Jon Anderson; and great grandson, John David Henkemeyer.
