David R. Gruska, 62, Saint Cloud

February 10, 1953 - November 18, 2015

Memorial services will be at 11:00AM on Monday, November 23, 2015 at Oakwood Community Church, 13140 1st Street in Becker for David R. Gruska, 62, of St. Cloud who passed away peacefully at his home. Pastor Gerry Bass will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00PM Sunday, November 22, 2015 at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in St. Cloud and one hour prior to the service at church on Monday.

David was born February 10, 1953 in St. Cloud to Stanley and Betty (Tietz) Gruska. He has lived in the St. Cloud and Waite Park area his entire life. David married his high school sweetheart, Linda Theisen on November 25, 1972 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Martin Marietta in Waite Park for 43 years. David is a member of Oakwood Community church in Becker and the Moose Lodge. He had a great big heart, colorful sense of humor, made friends with everybody (especially giving new friends nicknames), and always made a lasting impression. David enjoyed finding a bargain at garage sales and spending time with his grandkids, who lovingly referred to him as “Ta Ta”. Most importantly, he was a great husband, dad (calling his children everyday), grandfather, and brother. He will be missed by all who knew him.

David is survived by his “Chick” Linda of St. Cloud; children, Christopher (Jessica) Gruska of Duluth, Kelly (Patrick) Leary of Boca Rotan, FL, Charles Gruska of St. Cloud; grandchildren, Aidan, Maryn, Anastyn, Noah, Cole; sister, Bonnie Steffens of Luxemburg. He is preceded in death by his parents, and infant siblings, Cindy and Danny.
