COLLEGEVILLE - St. John's University is getting a brand new soccer field, thanks in large part to Coborn's Incorporated.

The grocery store chain has donated $400,000 to develop the soccer field in honor of former coach Pat Haws.  The new field will be named in his honor.

Construction of Haws Field will begin this spring, and it will be ready by the fall of 2013.  The total cost of the project will be $600,000.  Features of the field include a natural grass playing surface, and permanent team dugouts.

Haws retired as the head soccer coach at St. John's in 2010, following 37 years with the Johnnie athletic department.  He's the winningest coach in Minnesota college men's soccer history with 341 wins, 140 losses, and 50 ties.
