Barbara J. Huisenga, 62, Sartell

July 17, 1953 - April 26, 2016

Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids for Barb J. Huisenga, age 62, of Sartell who passed away Tuesday at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Sauk Rapids surrounded by family and friends. Rev. Kristen Anderson will officiate and burial will be in the Benton County Cemetery in Sauk Rapids. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home in Sauk Rapids.

Barb was born July 17, 1953 to Russell and Dorothy (DeVries) Head in Minneapolis. She graduated in 1971 from Roosevelt High School and earned her Nursing Degree in October of 1972. Barb worked as an LPN at the St. Cloud Hospital for 20 years, from 1974 – 1994 and most recently for the Epilepsy Foundation. She married Dennis Huisenga on May 28, 1977 in Wells, MN. She was a member at Salem Lutheran Church in St. Cloud. Barb enjoyed sewing, knitting, baking, tending to her indoor plants, participating in her swimming group and spending time with her grandsons. Barb was a very loving person with a strong faith and a big heart. She will always be remembered as being feisty and having a lot of spunk!

Barb is survived by her cat, Trixie; children, Jaime Huisenga (Pat Shea) of St. Cloud, Dennis Huisenga, Jr. (Collette) of New Hope, Candy Gapen (Mitchell) of Ham Lake; grandchildren, Anthony Huisenga- Wills and Logan Imberi; sisters, Susan Malvig (David) of Elk River, Nancy Keicker (Tom) of Chaska, Diane Parker (Tom) of Casselberry, FL; brothers in law, Jerry Huisenga (Linda) of Aldrich, Richard Huisenga of St. Cloud; many nieces, nephews and close family friends, Mandy, Sharon and Katie. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dennis; brother, Johnny; and sister in law, Phyllis Sweeter.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
