The Evolution of My Drew- Performer/Songwriter/Musician
LOOKING BACK
Isn't it funny how time just flies by. I know there was a time in my life when none of my children were here..but that time is almost impossible to imagine. I can remember, however...when there was only one. I was his world...and he was mine. The first of my three beautiful boys...Drew was my little shadow. He followed me everywhere. He loved coming to watch mom play music. He would dance around and sing on stage while we were setting up. I still remember telling him to watch out...don't trip on the cords...Look out for the drums...don't be running around up there.
Drew started his love of music when he was just a child, but played saxaphone in band, eventually playing the bari-sax in marching band.
He also started learning how to play guitar, and had musical interests that were much different than mine. He started writing music, lyrics as well, and started playing on his own when he was a teen. He introduced me to bands like Dream Theatre, CKY, and I know he still loves Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters.
Drew is one of the best songwriters I've ever known, and I'm excited about his future. Go Drew. We just want to get him back here in St. Cloud so he can share his musical talents with his family. Maybe we can play together...Maybe he'll find that perfect mix of members looking for a talented singer, songwriter, and drummer. Whatever road he takes, I wish him the best of luck. My boys all had nicknames when they were little. Drewster, Pinball & Busy. Just don't forget Drewster; Home is where the heart is. I love you!
