Woman Pleads Guilty to Filing False Tax Returns
FOLEY -- A St. Cloud woman has pleaded guilty to four felony charges of filing false or fraudulent tax returns.
Forty-year-old Jamie Lynn will be sentenced in January.
The Minnesota Department of Revenue accused Lynn of filing fraudulent returns each year from 2014 through 2017, overstating her withholding amounts in order to get thousands of dollars in tax refunds the revenue department says she wasn't entitled to.
Investigators say Lynn actually didn't qualify for a return and instead should have paid in more than $3,400 during that period.
Four charges of failure to remit a tax are expected to be dismissed.
