Woman Hurt in Three-Car Crash in Elk River
ELK RIVER -- One person was taken to the hospital after a three-car crash in Elk River Monday evening.
The Minnesota State Patrol says the crash happened just after 5 p.m. on Highway 169 north of School Street.
According to the report, all three vehicles were northbound when 32-year-old Sarah Martindale of Forreston braked suddenly. 25-year-old Nichole Gutowski of Zimmerman then braked and angled her car toward the median to avoid hitting Martindale. Gutowski's car was then rear-ended by a car driven by 32-year-old Heather Novak of Zimmerman. This pushed Gutowski's car into the back end of Martindale's.
Gutowski was taken to Mercy Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The other two drivers were not hurt.
