FISHING OPENER WEATHER -- Great weather this weekend for the Governor's Fishing Opener in St. Cloud. Temps as warm as 75 Friday, and the low 80s Saturday and Sunday.

 

ARCTIC CAT -- Arctic Cat is closing its Minneapolis headquarters and is offering 60 of those employees jobs at St. Cloud's Arctic Cat engine plant and office. The company's also moving off-road vehicle engine production to St. Cloud.

 

THEFT PLEA -- The owner of Avon Marine's pleaded guilty to felony theft and theft-by-swindle charges. 54-year-old Randy Pierson admits to stealing a customer's boat motor and selling it to another customer. Pierson faces more than a dozen other theft charges.

 

HOLD-UP PLEA -- Sentencing in June for 24-year-old Lavonta Lofton, who pleaded guilty to holding up the Knotty Pine Liquor store in December. He also admitted to holding up a convenience store because he was broke and had no money to survive.

 

HIT-AND-RUN -- Sauk Rapids Police are looking for a late model black Ford Fusion, involved in a hit-and-run last weekend. The vehicle should have some front left side damage after hitting another vehicle and hurting a passenger in that vehicle.

 

LAWNMOWER INJURY -- A 2-year-old boy was airlifted to North Memorial in Robbinsdale after he fell off the riding lawnmower his dad was driving and the mower ran over him. Severe leg injuries for the toddler. Happened just south of Little Falls Wednesday evening.

 

MOTORCYCLE HITS DEER -- A 48-year-old Little Falls man, hurt with unknown injuries, when his motorcycle hit a deer. Happened Tuesday night just east of Bowlus. Daniel Lemieur, taken to St. Cloud Hospital.

CHURCH FIRES -- The State Public Safety Department is asking for help solving the arson fires at 13 Minnesota churches over the last five years, including fires at churches in Melrose, Little Falls and Isanti. Authorities DON'T believe the fires are connected.

 

SEARS AUTOMOTIVE CLOSING -- St. Cloud's Sears Automotive Center at Crossroads Center is closing at the end of the month. Just one of 50 Sears automotive centers to close nationwide.

 

SELFIE STATION -- Now you can stop and take a picture at a brand new “selfie station” along the Mississippi River in downtown St. Cloud. Just installed, the artwork is along the new extension of the Beaver Island Trail.
