ST. CLOUD -- Stearns County is hoping to get caught up on their road construction projects thanks to the new "wheelage tax".

The flat $10 fee attached to your license tab renewals is estimated to raise about $1.4-million per year for Stearns County roads.

County Engineer Jodi Teich says you'll be able to track how much money is being generated and what it's being used for by visiting the county's website.

Teich says they were able to move two projects up a year because of the new "wheelage tax". Work on County Road 9 north of Avon will get underway this year. Stearns County Road 3 north of St. Joseph will be improved in 2015.
