UPDATE: 5 Die In Crashes On Icy Minnesota Roads
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The State Patrol says five people have died in crashes on icy highways across Minnesota this weekend.
A three-car crash killed one person on Interstate 94 near Rogers about 9:15 a.m. Sunday.
That person's name has not been released.
On Saturday, 29-year-old Angelica Salas of Lester Prairie and 6-year-old Jorge Salas died in a crash just before 2 p.m. on U.S. Highway 212 in Carver County.
They were in a car that spun sideways and was broadsided.
Forty-seven-year-old Patrick Thomes of Clearwater died in a crash on I-94 in Stearns County around 3 p.m. Saturday.
His pickup left the road and rolled.
And 49-year-old Terry Wiederich, of Gary, South Dakota, was killed on U.S. Highway 71 near Willmar about 3:15 p.m. Saturday when his pickup left the road and rolled.
