Two Children From Little Falls Dead After Two Vehicle Collision

MORRISON COUNTY - Two children from Little Falls are dead and two others are hurt after a crash in Morrison County.

The incident happened just before 1:10 p.m. on Sunday at the intersection of Nature Road and Great River Road, east of Bowlus.

A car driven by 51-year-old Gail Minnerath of Little Falls was traveling southbound on Great River Road and failed to yield for a pickup truck at the intersection. The truck hit the side of the car and both vehicles ended up in the ditch.

The passengers in the car were 12-year-old Justin Minnerath and 7-year-old Jonathan Minnerath. Justin died at the scene and Jonathan was airlifted to Children's Hospital in Minneapolis, were he later was pronounced dead. Gail Minnerath was taken to St. Cloud Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the truck, 45-year-old James Fogel of Coon Rapids, was taken to St. Gabriel's Hospital with non life threatening injuries.
