The Weekender: Nutcracker Ballet, Skate With Santa and More!

You can enjoy a holiday classic performance in downtown St. Cloud this weekend. The Stroia Ballet Company is bringing the Nutcracker Ballet back to the Paramount Theater for the 35th straight year. The story features and an enchanting Sugar Plum Fairy, a ferocious Mouse Queen, plus the grandeur and magnificence of classic Russian Ballet and exquisite costuming. Get your tickets now starting at $21 as they are limited. Showtimes are Friday at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Celebrate the holiday season with a little Irish tradition. Ring of Kerry is a Minnesota group that will be performing some Celtic music at Pioneer Place to celebrate the Christmas season. All five of Ring of Kerry’s engaging musicians sing and play several instruments, and the band has developed a blend of music that is animated and fun. You can catch their performance for just $20 Thursday night. Show time will begin at 7:30 p.m.

The St. John's boys choir is holding their annual Christmas concert this weekend. A Ceremony of Carols familiar and new selections, with the help of the SJBC Orchestra and a special Alumni Chorus. You will have two chances to see the show with a matinee performance at Saint John's Abbey Church in Collegeville at 2:00 p.m. or a candelight concert at the St. Mary's Cathedral. Tickets are $18 for adults and $14 for students.

Take the family out for a magical experience your children will remember forever. You can take the family ice skating with Santa and his friends. The St. Cloud Figure Skating Club is holding and open skate with Santa at the MAC. Admission is free and you can bring your own skate, however their will be skate rental available for anyone who needs them. The fun begins at 10:30 a.m. until noon on Saturday.

Rock out this Christmas with a show guaranteed to bring some Yuletide cheer. The Rock n Roll Xmas Spectacular is back on at the Paramount Theater this weekend. Join an 8 piece all-star cast of musicians as they rock their way through Christmas classics in a show that delivers as much fun as Santa himself! The show includes great music, hilarious skits, stories and parodies. Tickets are starting at $31 and showtime is at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday and Monday.
