Voices For Veterans

Today on WJON's monthly Voices for Veterans segment I talked with St. Cloud V.A. Director Brent Thelen. Dr. Thelen says the St. Cloud V.A. will assist the Minneapolis V.A. by taking patients without Covid-19 to free up space at their facility and indicated that the St. Cloud V.A. doesn't have ICU beds and won't take any Covid-19 patients.

Medical Chief of Staff Dr. Scott Bartely, Connected Care Communication Specialist Melissa LaFleur and Telehealth Coordinator Joan Houge. We were also joined by Public Affairs Officer Barry Venable from the St. Cloud V.A. We talked about how the St. Cloud V.A. is helping veterans during the COVID-19 outbreak and what steps they are taking to ensure the safety of staff and veterans during this time.

The St. Cloud V.A. is hosting the 2020 National Veterans Creative Arts Competition. Barry Venable (Public Affairs Officer) and Madge Scherer (Music Therapist) joined me on WJON today for our Voices for Veterans segment.

Today I talked with Barry Venable (St. Cloud V.A. Public Affairs Officer) and Rachel Bradshaw (Director of Community Care) on WJON's Voices for Veterans segment. The topic was on Community Care and how the recent law change back in February has allowed for expanded eligibility for veterans.
