St. Cloud Hires New City Attorney

ST. CLOUD - St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis has announced the hiring of a new city attorney.  During Monday night's city council meeting Kleis introduced the council to Cynthia Kirchhoff.

Kirchoff will fill the job left vacant when Matt Staehling was promoted to City Administrator back in July.

Kirchoff is a Foley native and a graduate of Foley high school.  She also has degrees from the University of Minnesota, Minnesota State-Mankato, and Mitchell Hamline School of Law.

She currently runs a private law firm, which she plans to close in order to take her new position.

Kirchoff says she has an extensive background in employment law, land use, and municipal law.

She'll begin her new job at the first of the year.
