St. Cloud Celebrates International Women’s Day [VIDEO]

ST. CLOUD - The city of St. Cloud celebrated International Women's Day on Saturday with a gathering and celebration at St. Cloud State University.

The American Association of University Women and St. Cloud State University helped plan the event. Over thirty organizations gathered for the holiday. Jan Bensen is the President of the St. Cloud AAUW branch, she says each organization has its own particular goal for women's equality.

"Each organization has a particular sleeve that's their passion, all of them together are working for equality for women," Bensen says.

International Women's Day has been observed since the early 1900's with an ongoing focus toward equality for women. In St. Cloud, Mayor Dave Kleis has officially proclaimed March 8th as International Women's day.
