ST. CLOUD -- Campus violence has been an on going thing at Universities with college students.

September marks campus safety month and St. Cloud State University is educating their students about violence.

Tony Porter is the co-founder of a national association committed to ending violence against women and was tonight's speaker addressing that issue.

Porter's main focus was to present the importance of men's engagement towards women.

Porter mentions that while most men are not the problem to this violence, they have a responsibility to act out when they see it.

The event was open to the public. Other events for campus safety month include A Day of Action on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Atwood Patio and Take Back the Night March and Rally September 26 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in Barden Park.
