Shopko Hometown Store Opening in Paynesville

PAYNESVILLE - Paynesville is getting a Shopko. The company has announced they'll be moving into the vacant former Alco store at 810 Diekman Drive, under the "Shopko Hometown" store brand.

There are over 200 Shopko Hometown stores, which is a smaller concept store for smaller communities.

The building is being remodeled with new interior and exterior signage.

The opening date is scheduled for June.

Shopko was founded in 1962 in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
