Sherburne County Law Enforcement Joining Drug Take Back Day

ELK RIVER -- Sherburne County authorities are keeping their law enforcement offices open Saturday for a drug drop-off event.  Saturday is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

The Sherburne County Government Center will be open from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. for people who want to drop off old or unused prescription medication.

Police departments in Big Lake and Becker will also be open during the same times.

The Drug Take Back event is an effort to combat opioid drug overdoses.

Sherburne County sheriff's deputies have used the reversal drug Narcan four times in the last 10 days to revive people from overdoses. Big Lake Police have used Narcan three times recently.
