SAUK RAPIDS -- At Monday's Sauk Rapids-Rice district meeting, the school board hopes to approve an $86.9 million dollar bonding proposal.

One part of the proposal is for $56.9 million dollars that covers:

  • New elementary school
  • Improving all district sites
  • New athletic facilities at the high school

Also included is expanding early childhood learning for Hillside Early Childhood Center, and Rice Elementary School.

The other half of the proposal is $30 million to rebuild Pleasantview Elementary at it's current location.

If the board approves the bonding proposal, a special election will be held on May 23rd, where the voters will be asked to vote in the options above.
