ST. PAUL --  A Sauk Rapids man has been charged with "electronic solicitation of a child" in Ramsey County.

According to the criminal complaint, a St. Paul Police officer who is a member of the Minnesota Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force initiated an investigation after having contact with a man on Craigs List.

Records show the defendant, 33-year-old Dennis Stachowski, had posted an ad looking for "young guys to play with". The investigator posed as a 13-year-old boy and corresponded several times with Stachowski from May 19th until June 9th. Authorities say many of the messages were sexual in nature and included at least one picture of Stachowski's exposed private parts.

Ramsey County authorities arrested Stachowski at his job Tuesday.

According to the complaint, Stachowski admitted in a police interview that he knew he had been arrested for sending sexual and inappropriate messages to what he thought was a teenage boy.

Stachowski made his initial court appearance Thursday and has another hearing set for July.
