SARTELL -- Sartell is looking towards figuring out the city’s budget for 2016.

This evening (Monday) city staff presented the first draft to the council to show where the proposed budget is heading.

The draft shows man focus in city-wide projects such as streets and public safety, which staff felt was highest priority.

The budget also includes the addition of four more staff members, two of them in the police department.

The first budget draft also has a tax increase from its current rate of 38.97% to just over 41%, however there are still some things that could lower this number.

No action was taken at this time. The council will take some time to look over the first draft before having a more in depth conversation at their August meeting.
