PRINCETON -- Rocky, the pet five-foot long boa constrictor has been found safe in Princeton.

The Mille Lacs County Animal Control posted on their Facebook page that the snake was found Sunday by neighbors, after being missing for nearly one week.

The snake’s owner, Ammy Sweeney, says that she feels “horrible and embarrassed” that Rocky escaped.

Sweeney has owned the snake with her mother for 12 years.

Princeton Police Chief Todd Frederick says keeping a boa constrictor as a pet is against city ordinance.

Rocky is back in Sweeney's care.
