Public Hearing Scheduled for Proposed Power Line in Sauk Rapids
SAUK RAPIDS - Xcel Energy wants to put up a new $10 million power line in Sauk Rapids.
The 4.7 mile high voltage transmission line would mostly follow Benton County Road 29 and Highway 10.
The line would create a second power source to the Mayhew Lake substation.
A public hearing on the project has been scheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday) night at 6:30 p.m. at the Sauk Rapids-Rice Middle School.
The project requires a permit from the state Public Utilities Commission. A decision from them is expected between October and December.
