ST. CLOUD (WJON News) -- Educators from Minnesota State, the University of Minnesota, private colleges, and the Minnesota Department of Education are all gathering at St. Cloud State University.

SCSU is hosting the annual Minnesota Learning Commons on Thursday.

SCSU Director of Online and Distance Learning Dave Blanchard says the day is about looking for new ways to support educators in teaching online, blended, and digital classes.

So many of us are familiar with that pandemic learning.  That was really just a knee-jerk reaction to an emergency that we all did our best.  Something about Minnesota Learning Commons is it's been a group that really has been focusing on enhancing and leveling up educators' abilities to teach online and think about it as a really powerful experience.

Blanchard says this event has been happening for several years now.

Between 175 and 200 educators are expected to participate this year.

Blanchard says SCSU has a digital presence in all of its courses, and they play to level up the online offerings over the course of the next two to three years.
