A few years ago there was a huge trend of people "cutting the cord" as in the cable cord.  And people were opting for various streaming services instead. Originally this was a good way to save some money on your cable bill, while still being able to watch everything that you would want to watch including live TV in some cases.

Personally, I was not one of those people who thought that was a great idea.  I like convenience, and being able to watch the shows that I would like to watch when they are on, and not having to wait a day.  As far as live TV goes, usually that refers to news networks, and most sporting events.  Otherwise, you can get most all of the normal network shows the day after they aired on a streaming service.  So, it was more economical if you don't care about watching a particular show when it's actually airing.

Since the surge in streaming services, they have slowly been increasing in price.  Depending on how many streaming services you subscribe to, you are getting very close to paying about the same, if not more when you had cable. So much for "cutting the cord" and paying a lot less.

This time it's Netflix.  Not only is the streaming service going up in price for the second time since October of 2023, but there are some other things related to it which will cost you even more!

How Much Will Netflix Cost?

First, Netflix announced that they had a huge subscriber increase in the last year.  This is probably mostly due to the fact that they started cracking down on password sharing.  So more people had to get their own account. Now, they have announced that they are changing some of the tiers of pricing.

From Forbes:

Question - to pay or to dump?

This, on top of several other streaming services that are offered could get a bit pricey.  Some people I know have 10 streaming services.  I personally have 4, but 2 are bundled together.  Prime and Paramount +.  There are shows that I would like to watch and look very good, but I'm not going to get 50 thousand streaming services.  It's crazy!  Just my opinion,  So, do you think this will cause people to want to dump Netflix, if you haven't already, or not?
