OH NO! Former Vikings Player Gets in Fight Over a Poker Game
Is this something that unfortunately seems almost expected at this point? I really liked watching the Vikings when he was playing - he was fun to watch and we would hear from players on other teams (Packers) that they just "couldn't stop that guy".
If you haven't figured it out yet, I am talking about Adrian Peterson. Who, arguably, will always be considerd as one of the greatest running backs to play in the NFL.
ABUSE ALLEGATIONS
Along with all the props for his game play, comes some abuse issues. A few years ago was a very public abuse allegation regarding his discipline to his son with a "switch". Suddenly AP was one of those people who everyone wanted to distance from. Vikings fans who had his jersey would refuse to wear it anymore, or just flat out throw it away. Others still recognized his talent for the game, but not his personal issues.
WHAT HAPPENED
Now, we hear that this past May, Peterson got into a fist fight over a poker game. This happened in Houston, Texas. Peterson is originally from Palestine, Texas.
The round of poker was at some "social club" (not sure what that means) but it was called JokerStars. It's located in the Galleria, which is a shopping center in Houston. Apparently he and another player had some disagreement during the game, and it escalated rather quickly. Someone tried to separate them, but that just led them to another area with more room so the fight would continue with each of them throwing punches. Great.
WHAT DOES AP HAVE TO SAY
Reports say that both guys had bloody wounds. AP stating that his were because he fell over a chair, not because the other guy punched him.
AP told TMZ that the two guys have known eachother for quite awhile. "...literally like a brother situation. We agreed to disagree, we had our words, and we threw blows, and that was it."
Well, it got him back in the news again. Not for anything good, however.
