ST. ANTHONY -- An early morning fire severely damaged a home in St. Anthony but the owners were able to get out safely.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Office says a fire started at a home in the 2400 block of County Road 38 in St. Anthony shortly after 6:00 a.m. Sunday.

Reports say the homeowners and their three children were able to evacuate the house without injury.

The fire was put out by firefighters from Freeport and Albany. Authorities believe the fire started in the garage before spreading to the house.

The fire left the house severely damaged and the garage was burned to its foundation.
