Muriel J. Cross, age 95 of Zimmerman, left us suddenly to be in her heavenly mansion with the Lord on June 9, 2017 at Fairview Northland Regional Hospital. Muriel Jean Patten was born on May 25, 1922 to Benjamin and Sadie (Looker) Patten.

Muriel loved her flowers. She loved cooking, gardening, and watching birds and squirrels playing outside her window. Her family and friends enjoyed her fried chicken; bread pudding was also one of their favorites. Her fresh doughnuts bring back fond memories to everyone. In her later years she enjoyed going to the casino, working crossword puzzles, and playing table games with her family. Muriel and her husband, Budd, took trips to several States which included Alaska, California, and Washington, snowmobiling in Wyoming and wintering in Texas.

Muriel’s favorite advice was, “Always take it day by day.”

Muriel is survived by her nine children; Betty (Alex) Parenteau; Paul (Bonnie) Cross; Judy (Mike) Acker; Chuck (Carol) Cross; Nancy (Rick) Row; Gordon (Sharon) Cross; Delmar (Loree) Cross; Larry (Sue) Cross; Lori Cross; 24 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Rose Cross; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
