More Foster Care, Adoptive Parents Needed in Minnesota
ST. CLOUD -- About 1,000 kids in Minnesota are in need of a permanent home. November is National Adoption Month.
Belle Kunstleben works at Kindred Family Focus in Waite Park. She says the first step for people interested in becoming a foster parent or adoptive parent is to get licensed.
I often compare it to daycare licensing, you have to have your home physically prepared and there are some minor things that have to be a part of that, and then as well as have a home study completed and within that document I'm really finding out about your family, how you were parented and how that is going to affect your ability to parent.
If you want to know more about becoming a foster family or adoption a panel of professionals will be at the St. Cloud Public Library on Tuesday, November 12th at 6:30 p.m.
