Monticello Nuclear Plant To Hold Open House

MONTICELLO -- Xcel Energy's Nuclear Generating Plant in Monticello will be hosting an open-house tomorrow (Thursday).

The open house is held to inform community members about nuclear power.

You can take a behind-the-scenes tour of the control room simulator and representatives will be on hand to discuss operations, safety and security.

Children are also welcome and can learn how to build a magnet, which they can take home.

The open house will run from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at 2100 West River Street in Monticello.
