If there was ever a piece of jewelry that told a hockey story, it’s the Minnesota Frost’s new Walter Cup championship rings.

This week in St. Paul, the Professional Women’s Hockey League and Paris Jewellers Canada unveiled the custom rings honoring the Frost’s back-to-back championship run. The moment happened in a private ceremony.

SPARKLE SPARKLE SPARKLE

Alternate captain Kelly Pannek put it best when she said this championship was never about individual awards. No single best forward, defender, goalie, or coach. Just a group that came together when it mattered most.

That spirit is woven into every detail of the ring, and I love how they've built the ring around this team's achievements.

IT'S 'THE THOUGHT' THAT WENT INTO THIS CHAMPIONSHIP RING THAT ROCKS

Designed by Paris Jewellers in collaboration with the team and the league, each ring is crafted in sterling silver and set with a total of 3.62 carats of lab-created diamonds. It’s bold and beautiful.

THE ICONIC FROST LOGO

At the center of the ring sits the Frost’s iconic “F” logo. It was created with 26 purple amethyst gemstones, representing The Frosts' 26 players. The amethyst is known as the gemstone of resilience, strength, and evolution, which honestly feels like it was created just for our Minnesota Frost.

DIAMONDS ARE A GIRL'S BEST FRIEND

Along the sides of the ring are 110 lab-created diamonds. That number isn’t random. Each one represents a goal scored during the MN Frost’s 2024–25 championship season.

EVERYONE COUNTS

One side of the ring features the state of Minnesota, a nod to winning at home, bookended by two amethyst stones for those back-to-back titles. Surrounding the state are 21 diamonds of varying sizes, a reminder that not every win looks the same, but they all count.

The opposite side features the team’s two Walter Cup trophies, the words “BACK 2 BACK,” and each player’s name and number.

For Paris Jewellers co-owner Chau Lui, designing the rings was deeply personal. As a mom of two girls who play hockey, she described the project as a celebration of women’s empowerment and belief, both on and off the ice.

Minnesota Frost General Manager Melissa Caruso echoed that sentiment, calling the rings a lasting symbol of the legacy the team is building in this new era of women’s hockey.

WHEN CAN FANS SEE THOSE RINGS UP CLOSE?

The Frost will celebrate with a special 7 Rings Celebration Game on Wednesday, January 28, at Grand Casino Arena. The night honors both the two-time Walter Cup champions and the Olympians preparing for their final PWHL game before heading to the Milano Cortina Games.

Four returning team members will receive their rings in front of the home crowd, and the first 4,000 fans through the doors will score a Lee Stecklein bobblehead. Yes, really.

OLYMPIC SEND-OFF FOR 8 MINNESOTA FROST PLAYERS

The game also serves as an Olympic send-off for eight Frost players, including six representing the United States, more than any other PWHL team. Two more will skate for Czechia, while the visiting Vancouver Goldeneyes send eight players of their own to the Games.

YOU COULD WIN A 2024-2025 CHAMPIONSHIP MN FROST RING

As one final thank you, the Frost and Paris Jewellers are giving fans a chance to win one authentic 2024–25 championship ring at the end of the season.
