Tune up that fiddle and gather your guitars and banjos — the 44th Minnesota Bluegrass August Festival is hosting more than 30 hours of concerts and countless jam sessions from Aug. 8-11.

Nominated three times as the "bluegrass event of the year" by the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA), the Minnesota Bluegrass August Festival will feature a fully shaded main stage, plus four other stages. They'll have a daytime Family Stage and a late-night Underground Stage featuring the hottest alternative bluegrass and Americana bands. You'll also find workshops, dancing, children's activities, and instrument vendors.

Music will include top bluegrass, Americana, and acoustic country bands including Ron Block & His All-Stars (Alison Krauss & Union Station), David Peterson & 1946 (Grand Ole Opry, Brooks & Dunn), and rising star Amanda Cook, whose latest album debuted at #1 on the Billboard Bluegrass Charts.

You're invited to bring your own instruments and join in a jam or workshop — or sign up the kids for the talent show.

This is all held at the fully accessible El Rancho Mañana Campground in Richmond, so you also can enjoy horseback riding, swimming, boating and dancing.
