MINNEAPOLIS-- Investigators are trying to piece together who shot a man found dead in a Minneapolis parking lot.

Police issued a statement saying officers received a call around 4 a.m. Sunday of multiple gunshots on the city's northwestern side. Officers arrived and found a man shot to death in a parking lot. They also learned that two other people had showed up at area hospitals with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Officers spoke with a number of people on the scene and questioned residents in the area about what they might have seen or heard. Those efforts were expected to continue Sunday. A police spokesman said he had no other information when reached by phone.

The statement said the medical examiner's office will release the man's identity.
