ST. CLOUD -- After over 20 years in business, Michael's Restaurant will close their doors for good.

Owner Heinrich Wurdak says he's looking forward to retirement and thanks all his friends, family and customers for their loyal support.

"I would like to thank all our customers for their great support of Michael's. Without all of you we couldn't have achieved this land mark. I would like to thank all of our employees and my family who stood behind me all along," says Wurdak.

The restaurant will hold a closing party Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Michael's Restaurant will officially close on March 31st.

Wurdak says he looks forward to spending more time with his wife and grandchildren and will continue to stay involved in the community.

"After 20 some years at Michael's I will take a break, relax and enjoy myself. Thanks again and I will no longer see you at Michael's," says Wurdak.

With the closure, the restaurant will be renovated into a bingo hall.

Last month the St. Cloud city council approved a charitable gambling permit for Granite City Bingo. The Minnesota Fishing Museum Hall of Fame in Little Falls will operate the bingo hall to help fund the museum.
