Melvin Beutz, age 89, of Foley passed away Monday, May 22, 2017 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Melvin will be held at 9:30 AM Thursday, May 25, 2017 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Foreston. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 4:00-8:00 PM at the Foley Funeral Home and also one hour prior to services Thursday at the church. Interment with full military honors will be at the MN State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls.

Melvin W. Beutz was born May 25, 1927 in Maywood Township, the son of Anton and Gertrude (Zimmerman) Beutz. He attended District 50 country school. Melvin proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII. On May 2, 1949, Melvin was united in marriage with Delores Broda at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Gilman. Melvin farmed many years in Granite Ledge Township. He also worked construction doing bridge work; sold farm implement, and owned/operated Beutz Equipment. Melvin enjoyed the outdoors, listening to old time polka music, attending auctions, and collecting Farmall Tractors. Melvin was a life member and past Commander of VFW Post 1558 and was a member of the American Legion for over 50 years.

Melvin is survived by his children: Dennis (JoAnn) of Foley, James (JoAnn) of Foreston, Gary of Milaca, Colleen (Steve) DeHart of Avon, Marvin (Melissa) of Clear Lake; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; special friend, Evie Brix of St. Cloud; as well as other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Milton J. Beutz.
