Mary M. Mix, 96, Clear Lake

October 16, 1923 - November 25, 2019

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Duelm for Mary M. Mix, 96 of Clear Lake who passed away on Monday. Rev. Joseph Backowski will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends and relatives may visit one hour prior to the services at the church in Duelm on Saturday morning.

Mary was born on October 16, 1923 in St. Cloud to John H. and Agnes C. (VanDenheuvel) Schneider. She married Harold Mix on January 24, 1948 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Mary lived in Clear Lake for all of her married life. She was an accountant for Gamble/ Tempo in St. Cloud from 1948 until 1980. Mary was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Duelm where she was active with the Christian Women, St. Lucille Mission, singing in the choir, teaching Vacation Bible School and was the church historian. She was a very faithful woman. Mary enjoyed plants, flowers, gardening and was a great cook. She had an extensive collection of owls and elephants and had a great sense of humor. Mary loved sharing stories, telling jokes, playing Scrabble and was a very caring and loving person. She was most proud of her family and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her sons and daughters, Ronald of Clear Lake, Donna (David) Primus of Princeton, Michael (Mary Kay) of St. Cloud, Dennis (Rebecca) of St. Cloud and Janele (David) Fox of Foley; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold in 2009; sisters and brother, Barbara Schmitt, Ann Johnstone, Sr. Marcellinda O.S.B., Henry Schneider and Cecilia Brust.
