Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at St. Marcus Catholic Church in Clear Lake for Lorraine M. Ritten, age 86, who passed away Thursday at Gardens of Foley. Rev. Joseph Backowski will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church in Clear Lake.

Lorraine was born September 10, 1933 in Ashby, MN to Jalmer & Helen (Elliott) Benson. She graduated from Ashby High School. Lorraine married Clarence Ritten on June 24, 1953 in Brandon. They lived in Virginia, MN for 32 years, moved to Clear Lake in 1991, and to Becker in 2015. She was a member of St. Marcus Catholic Church where she was involved in the Christian Mothers and Catholic Daughters. Lorraine was also a member of the Clear Lake American Legion Post #354 Auxiliary. She enjoyed baking especially homemade bread and buns, fishing, gardening, traveling, and trips to the casino. Lorraine loved angels. She was caring, loving, affectionate, and a great Mom who raised her children well. Lorraine was family orientated with a strong faith.

Survivors include her daughters, Debbie (Randy) Salo of Monticello, Gail (Jeff) Bierwerth of Balsam Lake, WI, and Denise (Terry) Cook of Monticello; brother, John (Nancy) Benson of Rosemount; grandchildren, Matthew (Jessica), Katrina (John), Christopher (Taryn), Katlyn (Aaron), Kellie (Jamie), Kayla (Bryce), and Emily (Cory); great grandchildren, Tyson, Bethanee, Vivian, Bennett, and Lilly; and many nieces and nephews. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence on Nov. 9, 2016; children, Daniel, Dennis, and Glen; sisters, Jeanette (Duane) Quist, Jean Benson, and Karen (Lawrence) Hammer; great grandson, August Brutger; and two infant brothers.
