Loren Wayne Weizel, 54, Big Lake

Memorial Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 11th at the Saron Lutheran Church in Big Lake. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services.

Loren Wayne Weizel, age 54, of Big Lake, passed away on Tuesday, November 5th at the St. Cloud Hospital surrounded by his family.

Loren was born on January 11th, 1965 to Kenneth Weizel and Rosealind (Gonsalves) Soares in Merced California. Loren grew up in California and moved to Minnesota in 1991. He enjoyed doing anything outdoors including hunting, fishing, golfing and hosting get-togethers where he loved cooking for his family and friends. He loved jamming out to country music and playing his drums. He took pride in being a meat-cutter at Coborns for the last 10 years. Family was very important to Loren and he found great joy in being a grandpa.

Loren is survived by his wife Sue of Big Lake; children, Corrie (Travis) Vollmer of Lamberton and Michael Weizel of Big Lake; parents, Kenneth Weizel of Gustine and Rosealind Soares of Fresno; step-children, Katie Lindberg of Bethel, Amanda Kruse of Plymouth, Heather Ritchie of Bemidji and Eric Johnson of Bemidji; grandchildren, Brayden and soon-to-be granddaughter and step-grandchildren Leah, Makenzie and Riley; siblings, Shawn Weizel of Modesto and Kenneth Weizel of Pismo Beach; step-siblings, Darren (Kim) Soares of Coarsegold, Matt (Tammy) Soares of Arroyo Grande, and Steve (Monica) Sarina; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his fiancé, Marlene Kruse; step-dad, Manuel Soares and step-sister Kimberly Soares.
