Laverne Payton, 67, Sauk Rapids

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM on Friday, May 29, 2026 at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in St. Cloud for Laverne Payton, 67 of Sauk Rapids who died Tuesday May 19, 2026 at her home in Sauk Rapids. Burial will be in Crystal Lake Cemetery in Minneapolis. Visitation will be from 10-11am on Friday at the funeral home in St. Cloud.

Laverne was born January 27, 1959 in Chicago, IL to Mose & Dan Ella (Sanders) Hubbard. She married Robert Scottie Payton on July 3, 1980 in Chicago. Laverne loved to cook and entertain for her family and friends. She had a big heart and was a giver. She was always going above and beyond to help others. She was everyone’s aunt as she was always there for others. She was a tough cookie and was known as “Too Sweet”, she so loved the kids and loved to spend time with her grand nieces and nephews and grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Izaak Hubbard of Green Bay, WI; Eshawn Spencer of Chicago, IL; Prescious Hubbard of Chicago, IL; siblings, Allen Hubbard, Edna Elison, Theresa Abeyemi, David Hubbard, Dwayne Hubbard, Barbara Jean Majekodunmi, 18 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Deshawn Hubbard, siblings, Savante Hubbard, Sylvester Hubbard, Dwight Hubbard and Earline Scott.
