Jimmie Lee Hughey, 85, St. Martin

June 24, 1929 - October 12, 2014

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 16, 2014 at St. Martin Catholic Church in St. Martin, MN for Jimmie L. Hughey, age 85, who died Sunday at St. Cloud Hospital. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the St Martin Parish Hall. Parish prayers will be at 9:00 a.m.

Jimmie was born in San Antonio, TX to James and Veda (Harrell) Flume. She married Paul Anthony Hughey on June 19, 1965 at San Juan Capistrano Church in San Antonio, Texas. Jimmie taught Microbiology at the College of St. Benedict and St. John’s University from 1991-1996. She loved reading murder mysteries, bird watching, traveling, teaching and being with her family. Jimmie was a member of St. Martin Parish and served as a CCD teacher for many years.

Survivors include her daughter, Molly (Tony) Mitzel; grandson, Jacob (Taylor Phillips) Mitzel and a great-granddaughter on the way.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul (2013).
