One of the things that I loved doing when I was a kid is going ice skating.  I actually never skated on any lakes or ponds like a lot of other people did, I would just go down to the rink in the middle of town and skate there.  I was never really all that great at it, but it's still fun.

New York has Rockefeller Center, that's pretty famous - but what does Minnesota have?  We have a skating loop in Maple Grove that's pretty cool.  And it's open year-round, it just changes in the warmer months to a visual attraction.

CENTRAL PARK FOUNTAIN AND ICE SKATING LOOP

This is located in the heart of Maple Grove, and it looks amazing.  I want to skate on this thing so much!  It could feel like a Hallmark Channel experience.  Get the hot chocolate and someone who skates well, and someone who is terrible at it, and boom, Hallmark Channel experience.  Like they say, if you know, you know.

There is plenty of time to explore and experience this ice skating loop.

The loop will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Skate rental hours are:
Mon–Fri 4 to 8:30 p.m.
Weekends & non-school days 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
As always, skating is free, and skate rentals or sharpening are $8.50.

GET YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS OUT FOR A FUN AFTERNOON

This is great for individuals and families who want to take advantage of the early winter weather and get out as a family and enjoy ice skating.  I love how anybody can basically do this.  I remember my younger brother having double bladed skates - kind of like training wheels on a bike, until he felt comfortable on single bladed skates.  So, anyone can do this, and it's great to see families enjoying these types of things together.
