Kids Reading to Pets – They Both Love This Program in St. Cloud

This is adorable.

Usually it's parents reading to kids.  Or the kids, when they are learning to read, will read to their parents. It's a great way for kids to learn to read, and also to appreciate books.  This program might be even better than that.

KIDS GET TO READ TO ANIMALS AND THEY BOTH LOVE IT

It's the Tri-County Humane Society's Book Buddies program.  This way, kids get to read, and the animals love the attention.  The animals don't care what is read to them or if a word is mispronounced or whatever the "mistake" might be, because there are no mistakes with this program.  Kids read, animals get attention, all good all around.

Book Buddies provides a non-judgmental audience for the young readers; after all, the animals don’t care if a word is mispronounced or if the reading is done slowly. National studies done on similar programs have shown children's reading skills significantly improve thanks to practicing with animals.
