Before Ella Langley Hit It ‘Big’ She Had One ‘Awful’ Minnesota Moment
Minnesota has a rich history as a place where artists 'cut their teeth' in the music scene. We offer a large enough market in the Twin Cities for up-and-coming artists to perfect their craft. While it might not be Chicago, Los Angeles, or New York, plenty of artists come to Minnesota and have a great time, except it seems Ella Langley, circa 2024.
IT Outage Causes Mass Chaos Countrywide
If you look back to July 2024, it was chaos trying to catch a flight anywhere. A cybersecurity company, CrowdStrike, caused a massive global IT outage due to a flawed software update. That outage grounded flights because airline computers weren't working, as part of the 8.5 million computers affected by the outage.
Think about how much airlines rely on computers in a day. From checking in to your flight, weight calculations for how much weight is on the plane, and then there is the communication needed for crews.
The ripple effect from the July 19th outage lasted a full weekend, with 7,500 U.S. flights and thousands more internationally canceled. Delta, which is hubbed at MSP, had it worse, with the issues lasting about a week, adding to the frustrations for anyone who was trying to get around. Including, at the time, a up and coming Country artist, who less than a month later would get her break with a duet with Riley Green, one Ella Langley.
Ella Wasn't A Fan Of The Outage, Or Of MSP
In an Instagram Reel from July 2024, you can see Ella's frustration while being stuck at MSP. Whether it was the food, the luggage, or playing games to pass the time while waiting for a bus to pick her up, it seemed Ella wasn't much of a fan.

Ella passed the time stuck at MSP playing games with her friends; we learn she hadn't heard of a 'Glizzy', having what could be a Bloody Mary, and passing the time until she rushed off to a waiting motor coach at the end of the video.
Unsure If She's Spent Any More Time At MSP Since Being Stuck
I'm not sure if Ella has been to MSP since July of 2024, and I guess I can't blame her, based on her experience. But she should know MSP was recently named #1 in airport satisfaction by J.D. Power, so her experience was maybe more a product of the overall frustration of travel during that time, versus anything else.
