The TV viewing situation for fans of the Minnesota Wild is continuing to unfold, even after the season has gotten underway.

The long, slow death of what was last known as FanDuel Sports Network North made it clear to see for some time that fans would be watching games in a different place than the long-time cable/satellite TV home of the Wild, Timberwolves, and Twins.

The Twins left first and did their own thing with MLB, launching a streaming platform for watching games supported by linear TV deals with some cable and satellite providers and select games being made available over-the-air for free.

The Minnesota Wild are following that path, though not all of the deals are done yet. Ahead of the season, the Wild announced their streaming option, an add-on subscription in Amazon's Prime Video platform.

They later followed that up by announcing that games would be available through the cable service Spectrum as well as the streaming provider Fubo. Deals are still being worked out with other cable and satellite providers, though those negotiations between the NHL and those individual providers didn't get done in time for Thursday night's start to the season.

Something that was announced earlier in the day on Thursday, before the Wild's first regular season game, was that 10 of the team's regular season games would be made available for free on over-the-air broadcast TV.

The deal was struck with a group of TV stations that cover the Minnesota Wild territory, with the home base of this makeshift network being Hubbard Broadcasting's KSTP and KSTC TV in the Twin Cities. The stations where games will be broadcast are as follows:
