The St. Cloud State University women's basketball team stomped the Valley City State University Vikings in their first home game up the season.

The Huskies were hot on both sides of the ball for most of the game. They outscored the Vikings 22-16 in the opening quarter. They slipped up a little in the second, but still maintained a 35-34 lead at the half.

SCSU came up big in both frames in the second half, outscoring Valley City 23-12 and 23-11 to push out an 81-57 win.

Four Huskies finished in the double digits. Tori Wortz led the way with 15 points, three assists, and two rebounds. Nikki Kilboten finished with 14 points, six steals, five rebounds, three assists, and a block.

Katrina Theis tallied 13 points, six rebounds, and one assist, and Madelin Dammann added 12 points, four rebounds, three steals, and an assist.

The Huskies improve to 1-0 and will head off to the MSU-Moorhead Tournament on Friday and Saturday. Their first matchup will be against Michigan Technological University.
